Charbonnel A Ones Macho
TOP COCKER IN SWEDEN 1993 |

I am very sad to report that this beautiful dog has died. He leaves a very sad family behind, but also a small legacy of promising youngsters. There will never be another Macho. 1n 2004, 4 years after his death, I was informed by his owner, Ann Swaerd, that Macho had to be operated on for Distichiasis and loose eyelids when young, prior to him being shown, to prevent his suffering. His temperament was not good with other dogs, (could he have had rage syndrome ????) which was very surprising, as his sire, Helenwood Sounds Familiar , had a superlative temperament, and HE lived in harmony with other males here until his death at fourteen and a half. His dam, Tanny, was also a super little character, and never showed an ounce of aggression. Of course, I did not breed either of Macho's parents, and I can only assume that there were some rogue genes there somewhere, but I can only speak for the dogs I knew personally. I would not have bred from either of them if there had been any suspicion of suspect temperament. Jack is behind most of my lines today, and I repeated the mating to Tanny 18 months later, without any repercussions. Machos litter sister, Charbonnel Sheerclever, Wendy, was a little doll. Taking all this into account, should Macho have ever been bred from ? |
