Fantastic news from Sweden and the Stockholm International show...now more commonly called HUND 2009- Charbonnel War Paint ,aka Paddy, won the juniorclass and was best male with CAC & BOS for very happy owner Monica !!! This means he is now double qualified for Cruft's! The judge today was Mrs.Carol West (Sheigra, UK ) Other pleasing results were :

Joe - Manaca's Money Money Money, our new aquisition, was second in his junior class and Johnny - Ch Charbonnel Manacas Design was 3rd in the champion class,so a super day for the solid males...well done Monica, also for your breeders group win !!

12/12/09

The last champ show of the year and we were pleased with the results.

What better way to 'break our duck' with Timmy than to be beaten in the Puppy Dog class by his litter brother CHARBONNEL LAW 'n' ORDER,owned by Lee and Patsy Robertson?!!!!! Patsy had him looking really well, and judge Mark Boswell gave him the class and Best Puppy Dog.

(please see our hound news page for our DEERHOUND news )

5/12/09

Our dogs did extremely well at London Cocker Spaniel Society championship show today...how lucky are we that these beautiful animals allow us to share their lives and participate so unselfishly in what is,after all,OUR hobby, not theirs!

It was a superb day for our Hannah who won the bitch CC with her bitch Sonja- CHARBONNEL DREAM DESIGN JW- a first for both of them...Judge elect for bitches was Joan Glennerster(Glenntree).

Unfortunately the fire alarm at the venue went off while Sonja was being judged for BIS,and it spooked her,but we were pleased that Mike and Zak took RBIS,behind Jeans Royal Liaison.

Young Timmy once again won his Puppy Dog class and Best Puppy dog under George Waite (Nosana)Timmy is still unbeaten in his puppy classes!

Young Lisette added to her tally of Junior Warrant points by winning 2 classes - like Timmy she needs Open show points now to make up the number of points required.Falling entries not helping us here!

Other cockers who we have a vested interest did well too..these include Tina Beswicks Desi puppy bitch who was placed in Minor Puppy,Lesley Spencers 2 Tony daughters who were both highly placed ,and Wendy Worgans Jack, bred by us.

Meanwhile, over in Denmark,Pia Elemund won her 2nd CAC with Desi and Sonja's litter sister CHARBONNEL SWEDISH MODEL,at the last show of the year. The judge was Janek Ludovit from Slovenia and there was 63 entries.

See you at Crufts Pia!!!

2/12/09

A proud owner from Italy is Luca Carminati, who owns Tony's son CHARBONNEL HOP'n'SKIP,who has been winning well in Europe. His latest success was in Zagreb at the Club Show where he won BEST JUNIOR under breed specialist Carol Wood, and on the Saturday at the International Show in Zagreb he was 2nd Exc.under judge L.Mach.On the Sunday he was again Best Junior under judge E. Ruskovaara. What a start for this young boy...and what a litter this is,from Tony and our Lulu,CHARBONNEL PINNY 'n' PEARLS.Congratulations Luca, and thank you for trusting me to send you a super young dog !!!

28/11/09

Another successful day for the Charbonnels at North of England CSA Open show today under breed specialist Dr.Ted Jones (Caron). Our young Lisette won both her classes and BIS,and Tim-Toms was Best Puppy. Sonja also won her class. Many thanks to Patsy for her handling of Lizzie for BIS and to Lee for the photos.

15/11/09

Our Timmy's success continues....! Another Best Puppy in Show for him, today at Coventry Cocker Championship show under Jane Simmonds (Shenmore)and now 27 points towards his Junior Warrant, but no Open show points as yet (due to the classes he has won only having 2 in them )

CHARBONNEL LIFE 'n' TIMES at 9 and a half months....

Desi and Lizzie both won a class and Sonja was 2nd in hers,so no complaints !

CHARBONNEL LISETTE at 13 months.

Lesley Spencer (Terriles) was showing her Tony bitch pups and won a 2nd and a 4th with them,so now both are qualified for Crufts already ! Pat and Thelma and Tina and Lacey both had to be content with lower placings than usual, but hey-ho,thats showing !! Always another day ...... ;-))

It was a sad day for Michael Parkinson as he handled his lovely bitch Ambrogina for the last time,as this show heralded her retirement from the show ring. What an illustrious career this little black bitch has had, showing herself off for over 3 years and putting herself into the record books.I'm sure I am not the only one who wishes her a long and happy life with Michael and Brian, sharing the sofa and hopefully producing more winners for them in the years to come.Enjoy yourself Gina, you deserve it !!!

8/11/09

A proud day for me as a breeder today, when CHARBONNEL MANACAS DESIGN became my latest Swedish Show Champion, in the loving, capable hands of Monica his owner, who played an enormous role in 'creating' this highly successful litter.Johnny won his qualifying CC at his first opportunity,as in Sweden the champion title cannot be gained until at least one CC is won once the dog/bitch is over 2 years of age.The judge Mr Fredrik Norgren, also awarded him Best Male at the gundog show in Grangesberg.

CHARBONNEL WAR PAINT,Paddy, also won the juniorclass and was 4:th best male!

Thrilling news from the Solid Colours Cocker Spaniel Association today where Tina Beswick won the Res.CC and RBIS with her beautifully presented blue bitch CHARBONNEL HIDE ‘n’ CHIC AT CACHEL,under the bitch judge Barbara Critchley (Whipspan). Once again I am very proud of her achievements…..

No other news from the show as yet,but if you had a good day with a cocker with connections to our kennel then why not let me know so that I can give you a mention ?

Our dogs did really well for us today at West of England CSC Championship Show.SH.CH.CHARBONNEL SWEDISH DESIGN won the RCC in dogs under Miss Joanne Darby ,and young Timmy,CHARBONNEL LIFE 'n' TIMES was declared Best Puppy in Show by both Miss Darby and the bitch judge Miss Sarah Amos-Jones.Hannah also won Limit bitch with Desi's sister CHARBONNEL DREAM DESIGN,and after much hilarity ,rarely seen at a championship dog show,I eventually persuaded Lettie,CHARBONNEL NICOLETTE,to put her four feet down in correct sequence to take 2nd in Maiden bitch!!!!

Hopefully photos to come...

It was good to see progeny of our dogs figuring in all their classes too.

Thanks must go to the West of England officers and committee for the beautiful rosettes, trophies and specials ,plus Royal Canin sponsorship....

Over in Dortmund,Germany, Monica was showing Desi's brother CHARBONNEL MANACA'S DESIGN at the big Bundeseiger show where he won a double CAC under Helle dan Palsson (Kennel Dan L,Denmark).12 hours driving didn't put Monica off..how DOES she do it ?

15/10/09

It's official, our lovely young black boy can now be entered as SH.CH.CHARBONNEL SWEDISH DESIGN JW ;-))

14/10/09

A good day for 2 Charbonnel owners who went to Gundog Society of Wales Championship show today under Sally Shields (Wilholme) .In both cases we were extremely happy to hear of their successes ...firstly Lee and Patsy Robertson won the Minor Puppy Dog class with their young boy Lenny - CHARBONNEL LAW 'n' ORDER (photos below) .As you can see he was moving in fine style, really striding out and using his quarters to advantage.

Secondly,we were very proud to hear that Tina Beswicks young blue bitch CHARBONNEL HIDE 'n' CHIC won 1st in Limit and 2nd in Open and the RCC.Well done everyone,I'm a very proud breeder,xx

CHARBONNEL cockers were busy at many different shows today.....

At Cheshire CSC we had a very successful day, winning classes with all 4 exhibits, and going on to win Best Puppy in Show with C.Lisette ( Desi x Lynette) and Reserve Best Puppy in show with Timmy...he is still unbeaten in his classes !! Our other 2 winners were Nicolette (Desi x Silhouette) and Sonja (Desi's sister).

I was pleased to hear that Tina and her blue bitch Lacey,CHARBONNEL HIDE 'N' CHIC,came out again and won their class at East Anglian CSC. I believe that Best Puppy in show was Paul Carpenter's black son of our CHARBONNEL WAR HERO,Topenkopf War Games at Joaldy.....

Pat Meaker had Thelma at an all-breeds Open show today where she was awarded 2nd in her class.

And,over in Sweden,Monica was attending the Stockholm Cocker Club Show, judged by the well-respected breeder Mrs Kari Haave (Travis).

2/10/09

Another successful day, this time at Driffield Championship Show under Dawn Young (Canyonn) - her first appointment awarding C.C's.It was a pleasure watching the time she took with every exhibit, and the pleasant and caring way in which she went over every one.

I was very pleased that WAR HERO won the RCC behind Mike and Zak today.Up until now Jack has had to take the back seat as his son Desi has been doing so well, but now we hope to have some fun with him too,so maybe today was the start of something good for him ?

Jack wasn't our only male to do well today - young Timmy also won his class and went on to win Best Puppy in Breed in stiff competition. He enjoyed every minute and I have to say he is a delight to show.

Lizzie and Sonja were also both placed, winning 3rd and 2nd respectively in their classes.Hannah had to be content with going to school today, which she doesn't mind now she is in 6th form as she loves the subjects she is studying....missed her SO much today though.... ;-(

Beautiful sunny day today...and what better pastime than sitting on the grass in the sun talking and laughing with friends and watching all our dogs playing together happily ? (if it wasn't for my slipped disc and sciatica things could have been perfect....;-((  )

4/8/09

Congratulations to Pat Meaker and CHARBONNEL THELMA 'n'LOUISE for their win in Minor Puppy bitch today at Paignton Championship show, Thelmas debut show.....

What a shame that a jealous exhibitor should attempt to spoil Pats day by making derogatory comments to her before she went in the ring. Nothing to be gained at all by that, only our contempt ......Pat had the last laugh by winning the class of course.....

2/8/09

Well done to Teresa and Archie, CHARBONNEL FIRST DESIGN, on their recent placings at Open and Championship shows....I am very proud of this young boy, along with his sister CHARBONNEL BARONETTE, belonging to Graham and Barbara, and his half-brother CHARBONNEL SWEDISH WARRIOR, belonging to Wendy and David. More good news from Sweden where Monica was thrilled to win the Dog CC, BoB, Best in Group and RBIS all-breeds with CHARBONNEL MANACAS DESIGN at the 2-day SKK Alfta show .Breed judge was Elizabeth Andrews. You can imagine how pleased I was to hear this news ....keep up the good work Johnny-boy !!!!

Hannah was ' in charge' at East of England today where she handled Johnny's sister, her CHARBONNEL DREAM DESIGN, to 2nd in a strong Post Grad class.

I can't tell you how pleasing it was, as a mum, to receive compliments, later in the week, about Hannah and her conduct in and out of the ring at the show. I am very proud of our daughter, and especially of the kind way in which she handles the dogs and helps to care for them. She has a quiet, unobtrusive manner when handling Sonja, and it has paid off, judging by her success.

4 and 5th/7/09

Theres and Borge in Sweden contacted me with the wonderful news that CHARBONNEL BLUE' N' YELLOW had won both the dog C.C.'s at the back-to-back shows this weekend at SKK Visby. Billy also won the R.CACIB on the 5th under Paul Scanlon. Saturdays judge was Fredrik Norgen.

Often I find myself having to justify my policy of not selling a puppy to a family with small children to prospective purchasers. Click this link to see a story from today's news, and this one to see the video and you might find yourself agreeing with me .....

After reading the text you may be asking the same questions as me.....WHY WAS A 4 YEAR OLD CHILD TAKING A ONE WEEK PUPPY OUT IN THE GARDEN FOR A WALK.....?? and WHY WAS THE CHILD ALLOWED TO HANDLE THE PUPS AT ALL ?? I do wonder if the pup is still alive.....??

13/6/09

A quiet weekend for show news ,but many congratulations to Monica and Paddy for his lovely Best Puppy win this weekend at the SKK Avesta show under judge Benny Blid von Schedvin.

SOMETHING TO BRAG ABOUT TODAY ....

Desi won his first (hopefully !) C.C. today under John Gillespie (Lochranza) at Birmingham National's 150th Anniversary Champ show. I was on my own and sometimes in agony, so I have to say a heartfelt ' thank you' to Barbara and Graham who helped me, and to Wilma, she knows why...

It was good to see Ian Scott back around the cocker ring again after his spell in hospital and laid up with his ankle, and it was him who reminded me that Frankie (Warlord) also won his first CC at B'ham National....!! I hope that that is a good sign and that Desi continues to do as well as his illustrious grand dad......

Below is a photo of Desi and the Reserve C.C. winner Chatway Gilroy

I showed Sonja for Hannah who is going through her GCSE's at the moment, and she was a crediatble 2nd in Post Grad......

And little Lizzie ,who we love to bits and think a great deal of, was shown in Minor Puppy bitch but not placed.....

Meanwhile, over in Sweden, Monica was having a successful time with her dogs. Desi's brother, Johnny, Charbonnel Manacas Design, won his 2nd CC and Manacas Cross Country, Tony's dam, won her 3rd and qualifying C.C., so well done to our Swedish connections !!! Hopefully we will have some photos soon....

It will be SO good to see this beautiful young bitch again, and for the 'kids' to get back together !

Over here in England Shon and Maggie's litter mates, our Desi and Sonja both won their classes and were shortlisted for the C.C.'s again at Cheshire Cocker Spaniel Clubs Championship show. We were very pleased to watch Kelbonny Go Dutch winning his 2nd C.C. He is Colin and Val Flowers black CHARBONNEL DOUBLE DUTCH son, and this takes his tally to 2 CC's and 1 Res.C.C......

This weekend we have had to say goodbye to 2 of our most favourite youngsters, Melody and Charlie. Melody, CHARBONNEL SUFRAGETTE, has left us for pastures new in Australia with Elaine Job at the Doulton kennels. We are looking forward to hearing of Melody's progress......

Charlie, CHARBONNEL WAR PLAY, is on his way to Brazil.....we had the pleasure of meeting his new owner Jane Vilas Boas who came over to the UK especially for him and to take him home.

We wish both these sweet-natured young hopefuls well in their new homes, and wish only the best for them.

Today CHARBONNEL HOP 'n' SKIP left us to go and live with Luca Carminati in Italy. As you can see from the photo Skipper is a chunky individual and with his super outgoing temperament he should be a welcome addition to the Italian cocker spaniel gene pool. I wish Luca lots of luck with him....

Beautiful sunny spring day for WELKS gundog day, and cockers had their first championship show on grass....

Tony was 4th in Limit and Sonja was 3rd in Graduate under judge Yvonne Stonier.

Congrats to Sandy Williams and Liliann for their 1st in Post Grad, and to Tina and Charbonnel Hide'n'Chic, who was 2nd behind her. Also to Lindsey with Charbonnel Fair Flair Avec Amaranth, little Lottie, who was VHC in Graduate.

19/4/09

East Anglian Cocker Spaniel Club Championship show today. Judge for the bitches was Sue Shinkfield (Notrella), who gave our Sonja and Hannah a first in Graduate and then later short-listed her for the CC, which we were very pleased with. Tony's sister, Manacas Laid Out in Lavender was also in the final cut, so well done Sandy W.!

It was a first trip out for our Charbonnel Lizette, Desi's black daughter out of Sh.Ch.Charbonnel Lynette, and we were pleased with her 4th in a strong class of lovely Minor Puppy bitches. She took everything in her stride, and later we took a photo of her outside....she is SO much like her mum at the same age, which cannot be a bad thing !!

Desi was 3rd in Post Grad, the class which was won by the eventual Dog CC winner, and Tony was 5th,dogs being judged by John Cahill (Yardew).
We took this photo of Tony outside later.....

We had news this week that Tony has fathered a blue roan and tan puppy, as well as frequent orange roans. Apparently his great-granny produced the colour too ....

12/4/09

Thankfully the weather forecasters got it wrong again and it was a glorious weekend....

It was the Cocker Club of Scotlands championship show, and our kennel had a good day, with Hannah and Sonja winning Graduate bitch under Rui Oliveira (Portugal) and Tony winning 2nd in Limit dog under Glenis Williams (Wistaston) hence gaining his Stud Book Number and qualifying for Crufts for life.

It was not the show we enjoyed as much as the grand time we had with the dogs in the forest we found near our B & B that evening....as you can see from these photos, the dogs really enjoyed getting messed up and having a good run !

4/4/09

Not a bad day for our dogs at Midland Cocker Open under Jean Stevens....Desi won his class and was declared Best of Opposite Sex in Show, and Sonja was 2nd in her class behind the eventual BIS.

Congrats to Graham and Barbara with Kizzy, (C.Baronette at Jalankiu) who was 2nd in Minor Puppy Bitch, and to Lindsey and Spice who also won their class.

Meanwhile, in Sweden at the SSRK Bohus show on the 4th,Tonys mum Malena, SVCH Manacas Cross Country won the CC under judge Sigrid Jarmer....one more to go for her title now, well done Monica and
Malena - Manaca's Cross Country

Only a short drive today to North Wales CSC open show, the judge being Sandra Gregory (Glasfryn).

Hannah and Sonja went one better than last time they showed under Sandra by going Best in Show, which made us very proud. Tony was second in his class. We also took 3 pups for the puppy walk, and they enjoyed the proceedings immensely. Many thanks to all the willing helpers and friends.

North Wales CSC shows have always been a little special to me, as it was at the shows in Rhosllanerchrugog and Gronant that I 'cut my teeth'.....in those days our dogs lay on blankets next to us or sat on the little card tables that we groomed on. A new 'innovation' was a white plastic covered wire cage to put the dogs in. Many people used wooden boxes for their charges, similar to those used for terriers. I'm not talking war time here though, just late 70's ! But the atmosphere at the North Wales shows was always friendly, and there was always someone to chat to and to offer kind advice. People like Doris and Lance Fletcher (Amron), Dilys and Peter Schofield (Scolys), Beryl Jones (Cordura), Miss Macmillan (Lochranza), Eric and Nora Borman (Sonic)Brian and Brenda Fosbrook (Bryansbrook) and Llew Griffiths, Glyn Griffiths' father (Glanerch). I well remember Llew telling me that my 'pride and joy' Sonic Sailor of Charbonnel had too much coat (feathering) on him and that I should cut it off !!!!

Of course those were the days before web-sites, personalised number plates, people carriers, DNA testing and mobile phones...to name but a few 'progressions' (????)When a show was a leisurely affair and some ladies would even get their knitting out at the ringside.!!

My Mum and Dad used to enjoy the shows then too, so it was good that my Mum could accompany us this March and see some familiar faces. She really enjoyed her day out.

After such a good day at Crufts I was prepared for the 'coming down to earth with a bang' feeling this weekend at the North of England CS Association show, but I'm pleased to say we needn't have worried. Desi, Sonja and Tony all won their classes and Desi was declared Best in Show, and Sonja Reserve Best in Show in a creditable entry under judge Mrs. Denise Fox. Tony was also short-listed.

As Hannah was otherwise engaged doing some prep for her Art GCSE at school (yes, school on a Sunday !!) I was very grateful for help from Jessica, Chris and Mike. Thanks for all your 'muscle' ,and to Chris and Mike for handling Tony and Sonja so well.

I was pleased that Tracey also won BPIS, as our breeding played a small part in her pups success, as her dam Q. Enigma is by Charbonnel Roulette out of Charbonnel Playtime.

Photo shows the line up with judge Denise Fox and the Chairman of the Club, Marjorie Coar.....

Well Crufts is over for another year, all the preparation and anxiety is just a distant memory !

I can own up now to being a little elated at the days proceedings, to have won classes with 3 of our dogs was more than I could ever have hoped for, and for Desi to win the RCC in such good company was just excellent !!

Thank you to EVERYONE who congratulated us then and since, and for all the cards, mails and phone calls.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all those who showed their Charbonnels so well, and who did our kennel proud with their beautifully prepared dogs....Lindsay with Lottie (Charbonnel Fair Flair at Amaranth),Tina and Lacey (Charbonnel Hide'n'Chic at Cachel) Patrice and Danielle with Danny ( Multi.Ch.Charbonnel Desert Gold) -2nd in Working Dog, and Sabine and Danny with Blondie (Lux Ch.Charbonnel Suzette) - 5th in a super Open bitch class with many champions present. Below some photos of Sabine, Blondie and me, and Blondie herself.....

Monica, Jane Pop and Sandy Williams all have to have a mention too.....Monica for being the clever breeder who bred both Tony and Liliann who both won their classes, and who let her super bitch Sonja come to stay with me for a litter to War Hero, Jane who owns Manacas High on the Hog who won his Working Class, and Sandy W. who owns Liliann and who was SO proud to win her class.

Congrats too to Eliza and Louise from Cyprus who did exceptionally well to win 3rd in the bitch CC winners class, with 'Milica', aka Gallinagos Sweet Dreams. Sweet little Milica is staying with us for a while, she's a real treasure and a credit to her owners and breeders.

THIS is a link to a site compiled by Spanish enthusiasts with photos of all dogs placed 1st- 5th at Crufts and THIS is a link to a site compiled by Alessandra Ferrera in Italy...thanks Ally !

As always we met up with many overseas friends, too numerous to mention individually but I have to say that it's always good to see you, but how I wish there was more time !! I was SO dosed up on painkillers and anti-inflammatories to keep my sciatica and knee pain at bay that sometimes I almost felt high...certainly very woozy anyway, so if I appeared 'strange' my apologies. Not for the first time I discovered why I shouldn't 'operate machinery' when taking my medication !!!

Crufts 2009 yesterday.....

A day to remember for our kennel when we were lucky enough to win with 3 of our 4 dogs. More details and links soon, but for now some photos courtesy of Petr Studenik ,CZ. Thanks again Petr, you are always SO quick !

19/2/09

We have received a new photo of Darky (Charbonnel Dark Design) from Eliza in Cyprus - he has just had his first bath in his new home !! He has settled in well and is very much part of his new family I hear !!

19/2/09

Great news from Sweden - Monica has had Johnny's (CHARBONNEL MANACAS DESIGN) hips x-rayed and they have returned 'B', so we are very pleased. I think this 'score' will be on a par with his litter brother and sister, Desi and Sonja, who we own, who are both scored 10 in total. Photo shows Johnny winning his first CC at Vaxjo at 12 months of age.....

18/2/09

We are pleased to say that Desi is now a Dad in Australia !! Jean and John Gillespie, and Louise Wilding, have sent their Charbonnel Double Dutch daughter, Lochranza Gold Dust to Tina Crocker at the Pencandy Kennels in Queensland, where she has produced a pleasing litter of 5 black pups,4 dogs and 1 bitch. We look forward to reporting on these pups again in the future....

15/2/09

The first show of the year for our young hopefuls, and we had a very good day ! Firstly, Desi-boy won his junior class, and not for the first time was short-listed for the C.C, thanks to judge Hilary Ladanowski (Towbray).

We also showed Tony, who has had some time out while his adult coat has been coming through, and we were thrilled when he was 2nd in a strong Post Grad class.

Hannah had a good day with Sonja too, winning her Undergraduate class in competitive company under Annette Rathbone (Winpenny),so altogether a pleasing outcome for our sweet 'Swedes'...!

1/2/09

Congratulations to Lindsay Norris and Lotti , CHARBONNEL FAIR FLAIR, for their BoB and shortlisting for Best in Show at Merseyside Gundog Club's Open Show, under breed judge Chloe Glennerster. After a long time away from the shows this was a really good boost for both of them ! WELL DONE GIRLS !!!

30/1/09

A sad day for us, but a happy one for Paddy, aka CHARBONNEL WARPAINT, as he left the UK for Sweden to live with Monica and her Manacas cockers and dachsies. He is the first Warlord son to grace the shores of Sweden, and is of course FN tested clear.  From the photo we have already it appears that he has settled in very well ....!!

14/01/09

Today Darky left us for Cyprus to live with Eliza and her Sorcerys Cockers. I hear that he has settled in well and is becoming quite a little hooligan, which augers well for his career in the ring, when a dog has a lot to deal with. He is the first Charbonnel to live in Cyprus, but maybe not the last ???

Darky is the second Desi son to leave us for an overseas home. In December last year C. Finnish Design went to Finland to live with Sari, and we hear he is doing really well.

Thank you ladies for trusting us to send you only the best of our pups, and for giving them the care, love and attention that we rightly expect.

4/1/09

Hannah had her first judging appointment today- 5 classes of cockers at Taunton and District C.S. She was understandably nervous, but I told her that as soon as she looked into the first little cocker face her nerves would melt away, and she said that was exactly what happened....

As this was her first appointment, I would like to thank her very kind steward and the secretary, Jackie Norris, and the show manager, Peter Pavey, for their helpfulness and for putting her at ease.

3/1/09

Yes, it's official, we have the bannerette to prove it !!! Our young black boy didn't know what all the fuss was about as he sat patiently to have his photo taken after being awarded 'Cocker Spaniel Puppy of the Year 2008' at the CSC's Puppy Challenge today. It's a few years since we have had our hands on one of the Cocker Spaniel Clubs coveted banners,7 years to be precise, since Warlord, Desi's grandfather, won Cocker Spaniel of the Year for the second year in succession.

Thank you for your card Sarah, very much appreciated. xx

We would like to congratulate Monica, kennel Manaca's in Sweden, on her excellent placing with Desi and 'our little Sonja's' mum , her Sonja, in the Top Cocker competition in Sweden this year. She was the top placed solid bitch even though she did not have the full quota of shows to count towards her tally (The Swedish top cocker competition only allows the exhibitors to count a small number of shows in their calculations, and they receive points depending on how many cockers are entered and any subsequent awards like BoB or BOS.)

Monica has also bred the Top Male cocker for 2008 in Sweden, Tony's sire, the Multi-titled Colin, Manacas Beat about the Bush, owned by Yvette Widenor......WE ARE VERY PROUD TO HAVE CONNECTIONS WITH MONICA AND HER DOGS.

Hannah had a good day with Sonja, when she won Best of the first round losers in the Puppy Challenge competition, judged by Stuart Plane. Congratulations to Jackie and Neil for sweeping the board by winning Best Veteran and the Puppy Challenge Best and Reserve Best Puppy awards - what a popular win !!! A good way to start the year......
