AT THE END OF YET ANOTHER YEAR OF SPENDING EVERY WAKING HOUR (ALMOST) THINKING ABOUT, DREAMING ABOUT AND SCURRYING AROUND AFTER, OUR FOUR-LEGGED HAIRY FRIENDS, I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS MADE 2003 ANOTHER HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL YEAR AND LEAVE YOU WITH THIS QUOTE FROM LYDIA M. CHILD (1802-1880) "That man’s best works should be such bungling imitations of Nature’s infinite perfection, matters not much; but that he should make himself an imitation, this is the fact which Nature moans over, and deprecates beseechingly. Be spontaneous, be truthful, be free, and thus be individuals ! is the song she sings through warbling birds, and whispering pines, and roaring wave, and screeching winds." 30/12/03Mavis produced a beautiful litter of 6 bitch pups today, by Sylvia and Reg Buntings black and white dog Ir. and Sh. Ch. Mossdew Celtic Swing . They are all spoken for, SORRY !!
30/12/03At our last show of the year, North Western Counties Spaniel Club Open Show, our Charbonnel Silhouette delighted us by going Best Puppy in Show. She just loves showing off and couldn’t wait to grab that big rosette and strut round the ring with it !!! The results came back today for the Dutch Boys hip X –rays. Johnny, the as yet unshown black Charbonnel Dutch Touch, had a score of 3:3 (0: 0 on his Norberg angle !) and Harry, the gold dog Charbonnel Double Dutch had a score of 7:9. Now I really have to concentrate on these two little scally-wags, who like nothing more than running around getting muddy and defying me with my finger-cots and slicker brush !! Hopefully up-dated photos of these ‘partners-in-crime’ will find their way to this site in 2004 !! 01/11/03EYE-TESTING – 4 dogs , 4 bitches – Sh. Ch. Charbonnel Warlord, Charbonnel Roulette, Charbonnel Dutch Touch, Charbonnel Double Dutch, Charbonnel Fair Play, Charbonnel Pick’n’Mix, Charbonnel Minuette and Charbonnel Frankette. Today the dogs were examined by Professor Peter Bedford of the Royal Veterinary College . Please see this link to view Prof. Bedford's qualifications and the excellent opthalmic work being done at the College on all breeds - www.rvc.ac.uk/Hospitals/QMH/Ophthalmology/Index.cfm )
