Coco caught us out over Christmas and has not been mated,so our next litter will be a beagle litter in the spring ! Will keep you posted !!

Our little PBGV champion bitch,Coco, has now returned from her spell in Northern Ireland with her 'second Mum' Hayley Knowles, and I am hoping that she will soon be mated to a quality male ,in order to ensure that some Charbonnel PBGV hit the ring again in 2012.If you are interested in owning and/or showing one of these little characters then do give me a call or email me - sandycharbonnel@aol.com .If I can help you I will........

The Houndshow and National Gundog always clash at the beginning of August,so for those enthusiasts of hounds AND gundogs it can be a difficult decision, and one which I definitely got right this year !

Favour,my loving beagle dog puppy won Minor Puppy Dog and Frilly, his sister, won reserve in Minor Puppy Bitch. Both of them were full of life and a handful to control today for some reason !Two friends captured them in photos, many thanks:

" Everything comes to those who wait " or so I was told repeatedly as a child when I used to beg to have a pony !! And so it was, that today my beautiful deerhound bitch Fliss won her 1st CC after a run of 6 Reserve CC's !! Leeds has been a lucky show in the past, and today it was judge Roly Cross who awarded Fliss that coveted piece of cardboard.....just got to get 2 more now !!

Photos below courtesy of Glenis Peach who kindly lets us use her images in exchange for donations to the Red Cross.A very worthwhile cause .....

Pleased to report that Fliss won ANOTHER Reserve CC today, this time under Brian Doak (Rosslyn) at East of England. This brings her tally up to 6 !!

In beagles Favour was the only Minor Puppy Dog present ,and won his class, and Frilly was in a class of 2,and was 2nd to the eventual BP winner, judge being Doug Hall (Cliffmere)

I recently found this photo of Favour and Frilly's dam,CHARBONNEL GLOSSY,taken before she was mated last year.....

More news from Ireland where Hayley and Ch.Charbonnel Coco have won their 9th Green Star together, followed by a 3rd in the Group. Both wins under Mrs.M O'Flaherty....Apparently Coco showed her socks off, which is great to hear- nothing better than knowing a dog is enjoying its show career !!!

Favour won his Minor Puppy Dog class again today and was declared Best Dog Puppy at Blackpool Championship show .I had the opportunity to watch him in the Dog CC challenge and to say I was SO proud of him is an understatement !!!

Favour was the beagle puppy to bring home the red cardboard today(!!),winning his Minor Puppy Dog class at the Scottish Beagle Club, with Frilly winning 3rd in MP Bitch.Judge today was Hazel Deans. Many thanks to Mike for his help and to everyone for their kind messages after a successful weekend .....

Fantastic news from Ireland today ! Hayley and Coco have successfully competed to win Coco's 7th Green Star, from 7 shows, making her an Irish Champion as well as a UK Champion. Many thanks to Hayley for presenting her so well to make this possible.Hopefully photos to come !

Fliss won a quality Open class today under Miss Bettina Adams at Southern Counties Championship show.

Coco was busy in Ireland today, winning her 6th CC under judge Mrs.A.O'Keefe.Well done Hayley !!

Fliss today won her 4th RCC at Birmingham National, thanks to judge Mr.Hector Heathcote.

Fliss had a successful day again today at WELKS winning the RCC under Mrs.Gill Smith.

Hound Association of Scotland must be one of the best Group shows there is....not too big,but loads of room, friendly atmosphere, and for those of us who are impaired by aches and pains, the car park and loos are just a stones throw away ! My 2 girls did really well,Fliss my deerhound was in open for the first time and won second behind the bitch CC winner under judge Angela Randall, but was not called in to compete for the RCC, and Ditto beagle was 2nd in Junior under judge Robin Sadler.I realised afterwards that it was Ditto's first show on grass,so the fact that she moved so well was a real bonus !

Meanwhile, over in Northern Ireland, Ch.Charbonnel Coco and Hayley Knowles won BoB in PBGV under Wim Wellens and 3rd in the Group. An excellent start to their show career together !!! Thanks for taking such good care of her Hayley.....

Another successful day today for Fliss. At the Hound Association Open show she won BoB under Val Meers (Lordswell) followed by BIS under Frank Borg from Malta.A very prestigious win of which I am justly proud. Thanks to all my hound friends for their cards and congrats !

A lovely win for Fliss today, her first time in Limit ,so where better to win than at Crufts ? Thanks to the judge Mrs.Zola Rawson, and thanks to Glenis for the photos......

Fliss           Love you !

My 2 PBGV girls are now with their new owners...I'm pleased to say that both Coco and Whitney will be shown, and that I will have the opportunity to have a youngster back from both of them in the future,as and when my circumstances allow me to.Good luck to Hayley and the Hanson family ,I know both my little rascals will soon have you eating out of their paws !!!

Both Charbonnel Raffia and Charbonnel Glossy have been tested clear of Musladin Leuke Syndrome ( or Chinese Beagle Syndrome) now.

This means that our 2 youngsters,Ditto and Drizzle are also hereditarily clear, which is really pleasing....

Really proud to report that our PBGV youngster Charbonnel Whitney has been declared Top Puppy in Breed in the competition run by the Our Dogs weekly .She was only lightly shown,so this has come as quite a surprise ! Thank you to all judges concerned.!

Whitney Whitney on the move

I am pleased to report that Charbonnel Raffia's MLS test has returned back clear, and that Glossy's swabs have at last reached the USA,they 'only' took 4 weeks to get there !!

Still waiting for the pups swabs to arrive ..........

Glossy's pups are now micro-chipped and they have had their DNA swabs collected for MLS. Fingers crossed now for favourable results.

Today Ditto started the year by winning Best AVNSC Hound Puppy at Whitchurch under David Killilea. Later in the day she was ably handled by Claire Jinks for the BIS competitin, which gave me a chance to watch her moving for someone else. Really happy with how she looks and how well she shows.Today was her first show without her sister with her and she behaved impeccably.
