I have always loved hounds, having spent a couple of years on a hunt yard when I was young, and to have Beagles was always an ambition of mine. Now I have the room and the time to dedicate to this lovely breed it just seemed to be the 'right time' when Jackie Marris-Bray (Helenwood) told me she had a litter .....Hannah and I went to view the pups and decided on a bitch puppy, and a few weeks later we picked Bessie up. Helenwood Bounty at Charbonnel that is....hopefully our foundation bitch.....

"Bessie growing up.... "

Bessie at 3 and a half years of age.......

 

Bessie did us proud by producing a lovely litter of 4 pups, 2 dogs,2 bitches, by Ch. Dialynne Masterpiece in September 2006. She has proved to be an excellent mum, attentive and sensible....Bless Her.

We will probably keep a bitch pup to start our small beagle 'pack'. Here are a few photos of the pups.

Unfortunately Bessie stood on one of the 2 bitch pups and damaged her neck, and we had to have her put to sleep as she would never have recovered from the injury, so we decided to keep a dog and the only bitch from the litter....Raider and Rafia, or Riff Raff as we call her...

Come January, when they were around 4 months, I took some photos of them in the garden, where they thought they were in heaven...loose chickens, big bushes and open spaces, beagle bliss !!

 
Then at coming up to 6 months we had another photo session and these 2 photos were the best of many we took !!

On the 1/10/07 Bessie produced her 2nd and last litter, this time to Jill Peaks CH. BAYARD GRAFTER :

These are the four little fatties, doing what beagles do best- filling their bellies !!!

Glossy was our chosen puppy to represent our kennel in the beagle ring in 2008....you have to believe how pleased we are with her !

Glossy makes us proud by winning 3rd in a class of quality Minor Puppy bitches at Birmingham National under breed specialist Anne Tofts. This follows a 1st in Beagle Junior at her first show 2 weeks previous. Thanks for standing her so well Han.....
