News from the AKC CHF :
We’re pleased to announce that the canine genome sequence has
been completed with the Canine Health Foundation being the
largest nonprofit funder. Now, the canine sequence takes its
place alongside the human and mouse genome as one of five
premier tools that researchers worldwide will have at their
fingertips – leading to the promise of quicker results, faster
tests, and definitive therapies in the fight against canine
and human
disease.
The AKC Canine Health Foundation
announces an updated DNA test for copper toxicosis in Bedlington
Terriers. The research underlying this test was carried out
jointly by a team led by Dr Mike Boursnell at the Animal Health
Trust and at the
University
of
Nottingham
in the laboratory of
Dr.
Paul Jones. This basic science was developed into a diagnostic
test at the Animal Health Trust with funding from the Canine
Health Foundation. |
